Scorpio Eclipses and the Astrology November 2022
2022 has been quite a year and it’s not over yet! This fall we’re experiencing the final crescendo of the Saturn-Uranus square which has been shaking some of the very foundations we’ve relied upon since the beginning of the atomic age. As the lunar nodes travel through the Taurus-Scorpio axis (January 2022- July 2023), questions concerning our relationship to our personal and collective resources, both material and spiritual arise to be reckoned with as we contend with some of the effects of our past actions. The viability of our assumptive reality is being called into question on many different fronts. We may find ourselves wondering who and what to trust and whether we can trust what we once did. We may also question which of our own shifting perceptions are worthy of consideration and which should be remain in the realm of imagination.
On October 25th, we have a solar eclipse occurring in the 2nd degree of Scorpio followed by a very intense lunar eclipse which follows on November 8th. Eclipses mark major turning points in our lives as a collective, and when they fall on significant personal planets and points in an individual birth chart, these themes show up in our most personal spheres, including the inner workings of our own bodies and minds.
Those of us with personal planets in and around the early degrees (solar eclipse) and middle degrees (lunar eclipse) of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) may be particularly challenged this fall to let go of, or otherwise leave behind some our oldest and most well-worn comfort zones.
The condition of Mars is especially significant during this period as it is the traditional ruler of Scorpio. It moved out of bounds in the sign of Gemini on October 23rd, as Saturn stationed direct, for the last time in the sign of Aquarius, and the Sun and Venus ingressed into Scorpio. Mars stations retrograde on October 30th, setting the stage for some potentially major reversals. At the same time, it forms a hard square to Neptune (what we can not see) in Pisces, making the quest for clarity one we may just as well put on hold, until after the middle of March 2023, when it completes the 3rd final exact square and begins to move out of the heart of a very confusing period. In fact it’s not until mid-late spring 2023 that we gain a full understanding of this fall’s eclipses.
One of the dangers of taking decisive action while under this influence is that we simply do not have all the facts that inform good decision making. Individuals who have planets in the last 10 degrees of the mutable signs, (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces), may be particularly challenged in sorting out the best path forward.
I’ve been fortunate enough to share in a discussion about the nature of these eclipses and the astrology of Fall 2022 with astrologer Stormie Grace, on her popular YouTube channel. I invite you to check out our chat for insights into how to navigate what I believe may be the be the most pivotal month of the year.
As always, it’s important to remember that one person’s worst day is another one’s best! How these planetary configurations plug into your own individual birth chart is the determining factor of how they will play out in your life.
